Sonoma County’s Biggest City is Celebrating Sesquicentennial (150 years).

Santa Rosa was incorporated as a city in 1868 and this year it is celebrating 150 years of history with a calendar full of fun events.

In honor of this anniversary the Sonoma County Executives Association will be viewing a video about Santa Rosa’s history called “Santa Rosa: The chosen Spot of all the Earth” at their weekly breakfast meeting on 4/11/18.

This video was created for the Historical Society of Santa Rosa and it was produced by Don Cambou, a local producer and writer who has 35 years of experience in the production of documentary films (including 15 years of producing Modern Marvels for the History Channel). Don Cambou and Gaye le Baron recently taught a Santa Rosa Junior College Community Education course about the making of the video and it was fascinating to hear them speak about the process.

SCEA members are encouraged to bring guests. Small business owners who are interested in viewing this video and learning how SCEA can help their businesses grow and thrive are welcome to join us.

Date: 11 April at 7:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Location: Santa Rosa
Includes breakfast, networking and the video.
No cost to attend, but an RSVP for non-members is required.

The video can also be viewed at the History Museum of Sonoma County in the Santa Rosa Room exhibit.
