Sonoma County Executives Association (SCEA) member Ron Dorris was a volunteer docent at Sturgeon’s Mill in Sebastopol this past weekend. Ron is a long time SCEA member and he is the owner of Ron Dorris Electric & Solar. Ron is one of the 70 volunteers that are dedicated to bringing the history of the mill to the public. The mill is open 4 weekends a year to the general public and two Fridays per year for student-only demonstration runs.
Sturgeon’s Mill is a steam powered saw mill that is located on Green Hill Road near Sebastopol, CA. It is a working museum where visitors get to experience saw milling as it actually happened in Western Sonoma County in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In addition to watching the mill operate, visitors can walk the redwood tree lined paths, view the cork-screw redwood tree and see the redwood lilies. Read more about the history of the mill on their webpage: www.sturgeonsmill.com.
Sonoma County Executives Association is a local business networking group that has been successfully helping members grow their businesses for over 45 years. We build relationships that build your business. For more information about Sonoma County Execs, visit our website at www.scexecs.com.
